When Change Arrives In Shape, You Least Expect

Delilah’s meaning is delicate and weak, yet if I look at my horse Delilah, she’s nothing as mentioned in this sentence. There is tons of Delilalh’s meaning, but I chose these two to be meaningful for my painting.

"Delilah is a woman of many secrets. She is beautiful, but she is also dangerous." — 'The Book of Delilah' by Harold Bloom

"Delilah is a survivor. She has been through a lot in her life, but she has never given up. She is a strong and independent woman." — 'Delilah' by Sidney Sheldon

Here is my opinion - everything is a perception. You can choose your meaning for whatever you want. Am I right? Yes, I am.

We are often led by the impression that we must follow what our “leaders” say. (Now you’ll ask me what leaders I am talking about. That’s up to you to choose who they are. Might be God, Guru, President Etc.). And I disagree with that. I don’t have a leader. My leader is myself and my heart. But yes, many people are followers and find themselves in the wrong situations because they were led in a different direction than their hearts wanted.

I learned a few days ago about Cardiac Coherence with Horses.

But let me start with cardiac coherence in people first. Did you know that cardiac coherence is the source of our inner power? It is physical and emotional harmony. When we are in coherence, our nervous and other systems work harmoniously. Our heart has a network of neurons (40,000) that work autonomously, much like a small brain. These neurons send signals directly to our brain. The signals that the heart sends to the brain regulate our emotions. The heart has neurons with long and short-term memory. The signals these neurons send to the brain affect our emotional experiences. The electromagnetic field that the heart emits can also change depending on the emotions we experience. The heart sends much more information to the brain than the brain to the heart. 80% of the communication goes from the heart to the brain, and only 20% vice versa. The heart generates 60 times more energy than the brain, and its waves' amplitude is 5,000 times bigger. By being aware of this information, we can see the relevance and importance of our emotions in our own life experiences. “The heart is right”.

You know when the heart is right.

Delilah

When we got Delilah, I was terrified. I was so against getting a horse. It was from personal fear that I grew by others. I had a feeling that she would be upset and run us over. All you could hear from me was, don’t go too close to the horse. I was nervous, and as much as I didn’t want to be around her, my heart guided me to her every day. Kids would go to school, and I stopped by the pasture she was in on my way to the studio. Like, why Ana? I didn’t know why, but I do know that I would come every single day by myself to the fence to watch her, and she would first ignore me for a week or even more, but then she started to come close to the fence. I would slowly touch her, remembering that I was terrified to touch her because I thought she would eat my hand or bite me. Hahaha, it's so hilarious when I think about my behavior. Nothing of that happened except the opposite. I started to feel my nervousness started to die down. I became calm, and every subsequent time I visited her, I found myself getting closer and closer to her.

A few days ago, I learned that horses have a heart’s electromagnetic field, five times more powerful than ours. Due to the laws of electromagnetic fields, the field orders itself when there is a predominant feeling on the field. A disordered electromagnetic field wastes a lot of energy and is not efficient. When there is an intense electromagnetic field next to a milder field, the weaker one is attracted by the intense one and gets in tune with it. Likewise, when coherent fields are combined, they generate a larger and more powerful coherent field. In summary, the horse's electromagnetic heart can have a soothing effect on individuals. And here is my answer as to why I was showing up at Delilah’s pasture.

Walking Delilah is a painting of a growth away from fear.

Today, I am so grateful that she showed up in my life to encourage me not to fear things that our “leaders” told us to be in fear of. To show me that only my heart can tell right from wrong.
